KAJIAN LITERASI ETNOMEDISINAL DAN FITOKIMIA TERHADAP POTENSI TERAPI POLIHERBAL PADA GASTRITIS
Abstract
Saluran pencernaan merupakan salah satu organ terpenting dalam tubuh manusia dan rentan terhadap berbagai penyakit, salah satunya adalah gastritis. Gastritis merupakan suatu kondisi meradangnya lapisan mukosa lambung yang menyebabkan sakit perut, dispepsia, kembung dan mual. Kejadian gastritis di Indonesia cukup tinggi dengan prevalensi 274.396 kasus dari 238.452.952 jiwa. Obat yang tersedia seringkali memiliki kemanjuran yang rendah dan juga adanya efek samping. Obat-obatan sintetis ditemukan relatif lebih mahal dan menghasilkan banyak efek samping yang tidak diinginkan meskipun tindakan farmakologisnya kuat. Berdasarkan Literature Ayurveda, konsep poliherbalisme dipakai untuk mencapai kemanjuran terapeutik yang lebih besar. Konstituen fitokimia aktif dari masing-masing tanaman tidak cukup untuk mencapai efek terapeutik yang diinginkan, sehingga menggabungkan beberapa herbal dalam rasio tertentu akan memberikan efek terapi yang lebih baik dan mengurangi toksisitas. Kajian literasi ini terutama berfokus pada pentingnya poliherbalisme dan signifikansi klinis dalam pengobatan gastritis. Beberapa informasi etnomedisin dan fitokimia dari beberapa tanaman obat dikumpulkan dan akan dijadikan landasan dalam formulasi obat poliherbal. Sehingga obat poliherbal bisa dijadikan terapi penunjang yang aman dan efektif untuk gastritis ke depannya
